Meet the Author

A.K. Proctor was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and grew up amidst the kudzu and pines of the eastern plains. Drawing inspiration from fairy tales, local folklore, and the imaginations of authors like Stephen King and Susanna Clarke, she became immersed in the world of storytelling from an early age. Proctor’s works are infused with a sense of magic in the mundane and the fantastical lengths we will go to in order to impose meaning on a chaotic world.

Proctor currently lives in Torrance, California with her husband, Sam. She spends her days writing, crafting, and walking her dogs.
